Making a first impression upon customers is vital for a wonderful day at any market, fair or event, the last thing you want to see is a vendor behind their stall yawning or reading a book or playing on their phone.

  • Word of mouth is a strong force to be reckoned with, so treat each and every customer with courtesy and respect, word will soon spread if you are rude or dismissive of customers.
  • Have an inviting stall set up that draws customers to take  a look, think junk shop versus boutique which would you rather see as a stall at an artisan market?
  • Be open to feedback and be mindful you may hear something you do not want to hear, take it all onboard and do not get upset, see if you can make changes for next time, remember not everyone is going to love what you make as much as you do.
